This weekend’s weather for my usual route of flight appears favorable. In fact, the forecast is for severe VMC conditions. For the first time in forty-one days, I should get to take to the skies again.
Outbound tomorrow, at both ends, they are forecasting a light breeze, visibility in excess of six miles, and either a few high (25,000 feet) clouds or sky clear.
Return Sunday night is winds calm, visibility in excess of six miles, and a few clouds above 12,000 feet at HEF and winds <10MPH, visibility in excess of six miles, and broken clouds above 12,000 feet at TTA.
As is normal for this time of year, it’s going to be chilly – surface temperatures will be in the 40s tomorrow afternoon and in the 30s Sunday night. Absent precipitation, low clouds, or significant wind, that’s nothing but a slightly unpleasant preflight.
I hope that next weekend will be similarly agreeable. I want the practice. The following weekend will find me flying to Tampa Exec in my first ever multi-leg cross country for a fellowship meeting in Brandon, Lord willing. I’ll likely log over six hours that Friday and another six coming home Sunday afternoon.
Looking forward to the details on this trip. Should be fun.
