Work Update

A couple weeks ago, I mentioned that there was a possibility of moving to day shift and working under my favorite boss who was reassigned several months ago.

Things at BigBoxRetailer move glacially slow, especially when one is in a hurry.  This morning, I spoke to the aforementioned favorite manager. He told me that both of the requisitions were approved, but he has yet to see them actually entered in the system.  He said that as soon as they show up in the system, he’ll pull my name for one of them.

Honestly, I don’t want to leave third shift.  I like what I do, at least when the dipshits leave me alone and let me do my job.  Which is pretty much never anymore.  I like my job when fucktards on previous shifts actually do their damn jobs instead of creating more work for me.  The latter of which is pretty much a daily occurrence.  Such is life, though, when dealing with near-minimum wage folks.  The biggest problem, though, is the management.  There is a mutual seething hatred dislike between me and both assistant managers.

Day shift would expose me constantly to customers, which I hate.  At least, I’m pretty sure I would hate it.  I hate people, and customers are people.  I would also be more visible to the various and sundry “chiefs” that run around during daylight hours.  It would also be a less active position, meaning that I would quickly slide back into obesity if I didn’t make significant changes to my food intake.  Which I really don’t want to do, since eating is one pleasurable thing that I can do.  On the plus side, I wouldn’t be under the control of the ignoramuses any longer. You know, the ones who wouldn’t know a clue if one came up and bit them on either of their extremely ample backsides.

Oh, well.  Time will tell.  Until then, I will press on.

It must be very bad to want to leave night shift. I can relate to the extreme dislike for a manager. I have the most petty, vindictive and utterly useless “manager.” There is a mutual disdain between us.

It’s probably not as bad as I make it seem, but I’m just tired of the crap. I think need new crap to deal with for a while. After six months, I can always put in to go back. I may not get the same position, but I’m sure I can get back on 3rd as a stocker if I find that I absolutely can’t deal with customers’ shit.
